with RasTerms on the Cross Bronx Expressway; time-lapse video shot by Greg McMahon.
Rooftop along the Cross Bronx Expressway (i-95) painted with RasTerms during the summer months. This is the most heavily congested freeway in the Bronx as well as the first major highway built through an urban environment. Making the top ten list of most congested traffic jams nationally, the amount of dollars and time lost along this tiny stretch of corridor is significant and reaches into the millions of dollars annually. It's impact on the surrounding communities has also raised concerns regarding lower property values and the impact on the quality of life for Bronx residents. Adding some color to the city landscape, this wall mural glows brightly when seen from the freeway against the backdrop of brick and mortar buildings.
